Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman (2012)

Plot: this book is part of the best-selling series Heartstopper (a Staff YA Book Club read and one of, if not, the most popular series in the LRC currently). At the end of summer, Nick will leave to university needs Leeds, a couple hundred miles away from home. He cannot wait to start fresh and have a brand-new opportunity in education. Charlie wants to support his boyfriend but can’t help but feel anxious every time Nick mentions university. Will their relationship survive long distance?

Who I would recommend this to: Nick and Charlie is a great add-on to the series Heartstopper; it was interesting to read about these characters from their own perspectives and appreciate their inner thoughts, feelings and opinions which this book enables. I strongly recommend this book and the entire series to people whole love graphic novels and LGBTQIA+ reads.
