Our new ‘Shelf Care’ Section for Wellbeing

Books can help us navigate life’s big challenges, providing advice and support in understanding and managing our feelings and personal growth. It’s reassuring, and often illuminating, to see ourselves or others in what we read when trying to take better care of ourselves and those around us.

Our new ‘shelf-care’ reading section is a mixture of fiction, non-fiction, personal accounts, picture books and poetry exploring different experiences, areas and topics including neurodiversity; personal development; anxiety and stress management; body image; self-esteem; gender identity; sexuality, and bereavement. They have been carefully selected to provide you with supportive (often inspiring) representations and information to understand more, escapism and comfort alike.

Everyone can browse the collection (see below for titles and an overview of two) during Study Hall after school in a comfortable, calm space. Click and [it’s] delivered! Email LRC@georgegreens.com to request a title or express an area/topic you’d like to read about and we’ll find and deliver a copy discretely direct to you/or you can collect after school.
