The novel Girl woman other, shows multiple perspectives of twelve Black British women living in British society. The novel itself explores race, sexuality, gender, history, heritage, and the struggles that come with it. The narrative of Girl Woman Other is truly an enlightening novel; it is thought provoking and deep yet still has a lot of humour. There are many characters such as Amma who stand out to me as a strong female role models. The strong feminist perspectives really help form the book and show how the twelve women are connected either through values, family or friendship ties.
I loved this book as it shows the diversity within families, and represents the women as ordinary to extraordinary. It engages the reader and makes you ask many questions, keeping that interest to carry on reading.
