The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini (2003)
About the book: The story tells a story of two unlikely friends: one, an extremely rich and wealthy son named Amir and another named Hassan who is the son of a peasant who works for Amir family.
The story tells the unjust treatment of Hassan and an event that changes both boys’ lives irrevocably. The clear difference in social class and status brings about a sense of an unjust social system which the writer juxtaposes with the values of friendship and forgiveness. It is a powerful, emotional and unforgettable read.
