Collected Grimm Tales, Carol Ann Duffy and Tim Supple
A spellbinding collection of some of the Grimm Brother’s tales. Half of the book is filled with the dramatized, script version- while the other half are the same stories, but in a normal format. When I read this book, I felt strangely nostalgic as I remembered some tales that I had long forgotten, and read new ones. My favourite story was ‘Clever Hans’ and the Grimm Brother’s sense of humour was clearly made evident in this tale.
This book definitely deserves a place in any English or Drama department, but I’d recommend you to read this book purely for the joy of fairy tales. One of the interesting things about this book are the scrawly, pencil illustrations before the story begins; they are both frightening and curious.
