World Book Day 2023

This year, we will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 3rd March with a special literary ‘Word of the Week’, World Book Day assemblies and PSHCE activities during the week. In addition, check out a host of fantastic resources and competitions available from the official World Book Day organisers! Here’s our pick of the best:

Free books! Watch the official World Book Day 2023 trailer below featuring the amazing £1 books this year. We have 50 copies each of Being an Ally: Real Talk About Showing Up, Screwing Up, and Trying Again, Boot It!, The Boy with Wings: Attack of the Rampaging Robot, The Strangeworlds Travel Agency: Adventure in the Floating Mountains and Kay’s Brilliant Brains to give away for free in the LRC too so watch this space…

World Book Day 2023 Book Token

FREE audiobooks: Head to World Book Day’s World of Stories where you can enjoy free full-length audiobooks for a limited time. There are some brilliant titles to listen to this year.

Design a National Book Token Competition 2023: the winning design will be made into a real life National Book Token gift card to be distributed across bookshops nationwide in time for Christmas! And there are National Book Tokens galore to be won too (up to £350 for the school and £100 for yourself; just imagine all those beautiful new books for the LRC). All entries should be produced on A4 paper using a specific entry form. The closing date for entries is Sunday 2nd April 2023. Finally for Fans of How to Train your Dragon, check out this incredible competition to win a 3-day family trip to Soltau in Germany to stay at Heide Park, the theme park that is home to an entire land based around How to Train Your Dragon.
