Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (2002)

I would definitely recommend the Lovely Bones for an engrossing read.

I thought it was a proper thriller and even though some bits were very highly sensitive I really enjoyed reading it. I found myself engaged with the characters which, teamed with the unusual narrative perspective, helped me to understand the emotions explored throughout the book.

The character of Susie really got to me as she is a typical teenager yet went through the most traumatising incident and is trying to come to terms with this whilst watching her family deal with it also. It is full of tension and suspense. I definitely recommend this read.
