The Maze Runner, James Dashner (2009)

As he wakes up in a cold, steel box, and is hefted up into the Glade, he has no idea, no memories of who he is or why he’s here. Only his name. Thomas.

That is the only thing the boys in the Glade know about themselves.
And that they must escape.

Surrounded by looming stone walls that creak open each sunrise till sunset, and trapped by the maze that lays beyond the walls.

James Dashner has created a claustrophobic aura in this ground-breaking first book to the series- fast-paced and screaming with action.

I intensely enjoyed this book as it makes you feel just as trapped and clueless as the characters, and nothing is ever given away.
