Wild Boy, Rob Lloyd Jones (2013)
Rob Lloyd Jones is an amazing writer: Wild Boy, his first book, is magnificent. I know that this book would appeal to the fans of Sherlock Holmes for certain.
Plot: An evil showman buys ‘Wild Boy’ from a workhouse. Covered in hair and looking like a monstrosity, he is forced to perform in the travelling freak show. His talent – seeing things others don’t – is a gift that nobody else has. After obtaining a small note and reading the contents, Wild Boy is shaken to the core. After trying to stop the bad deed, he is framed, and he and his friends must find a solution to the greatest problem they’ll ever face…
Thoughts: I think that Wild Boy is fantastic; the book starts off with a bang and carries on being so addictive all the way through. It’s a classic whodunit and it’s an amazing book to read. It especially gets your blood pumping, and pulls you in within a few pages of reading.
I would give this book a 5-star rating, and would suggest it to those who like reading about crimes, those who like mysteries, and those who enjoy being curious.
